Yesterday in the evening I received a phone call from Sabine Mecl-Castaldi of Patch of Heaven Bengals :-D First, she told me that the cat we were interested in is already reserved, but then she also mentioned that she has another litter.

Besides Rehbis, I am also in contact with “Patch of Heaven Bengals” (since yesterday) and “Wildfelja“. As Rehbis, I wrote them, that we would like to visit their breed and that I am interested in their current or coming litter.

Unfortunately, I did not receive an answer from Rehbis and Wildfelja regarding my wish for a visit for a long time :-(

… of a great catwalk (not a catwalk for models, but for cats) in our living room :-D Our living room is the biggest room in our apartment, not only in its area, but also in its hight (3,40 meters). Therefore, we are thinking about building a catwalk on the walls to use all 3 dimensions of our living room.

Scratching posts from Petfun

I was searching the net for sources to buy a nice scratching post for our future cat. I started by looking at Amazon and different online-shops for animal supply. The scratching posts I found were ok, but  I was not really sure about them. Mostly they looked not very robust and stable, and were made with lots of this fluffy plush.

Fortunately I found the website and products of Petfun: http://shop.petfun.de/en

Almo NatureAlmo Nature is another high-quality cat food. As Vet-Concept they only use ingredients which are also allowed for humans. They offer food in three categories: Natural, Cuisine and Taste, which are wet and dry food. Vet-Concept LogoVet-Concept is a high quality pet food provider. They offer food not only for cats, but also dogs and horses. Their website https://vet-concept.com/ is very informative and gives details about the ingredients of their products.  They exclusivley use ingredients which are also allowed for humans and mention a digestibility of over 90%.

I am definitely going to test their products for cats. They offer dry and wet food, special food for kittens, old cats and sick cats, special diet food for overweight cats, special treats, and products for grooming. I am very curious about their products and will write about my experiences as soon as I made them ;-)

Wohnungskatzen (Indoor cats)

Wohnungskatzen coverI bought the book with the title “Wohnungskatzen” written by Gabriele Linke-Grün. Unfortunately, it is written in German. I liked it very much. Especially the section “Schöner wohnen” (better living) inspired me. In this section there are hints how to make an apartment interesting for your cat. One of the ideas I am planing to also realize in my apartment is to use the height of rooms and mount so-called cat boards on the walls. The following website shows cat boards and also sells them: http://www.cats-family.de/katzen-kratzbaum-alternative/index.html

This book is sold by Amazon and Weltbild Verlag.

Finding breeder

We are computer people, so we decided on the breed of our cat after a thorough research on the internet. There are numerous websites informing about looks, characteristics and needs of the different breeds.

After deciding on the breed the next question is: Where do we get our cat from?

As we are young people with lots of nerves, we plan to adopt a kitten from a breeder.

light bulbTip: In our opinion, the best source to find breeder, especially for a rare breed as Bengals in Austria, is the INTERNET.

You can simply start by asking Google.
As I found a lot of material about Bengals, but not really seriously looking breeders, I searched for websites listing breeder. Here are two of them: http://www.tieranzeigen.at/ and http://www.zuechter.info/.
